This is Alphonse. His artist, Jordi Ramone at Shanghai Tattoo in Spartanburg, SC, gave him the name based on the style of outlining, particularly on the tentacles. The octopus has been a huge love of mine for a long time and I am attracted to them for a plethora of reasons, a pinch being that they are intelligent, curious, and almost science fiction. This lovely piece was my third tattoo and the only part stenciled was the head. I had initially had an octopus drawn out myself to have as my first tattoo, but the artist’s wife went into labor the day of my appointment so I decided to wait for a better time to have it done, and I am SO happy I did. Jordi is an amazing artist. I love Alphonse more than a lot of things.
